IBM’s global head of blockchain for financial services and digital currencies Jesse Lund has parted ways with IBM, CoinDesk writes. His plans for IBM included introducing cryptocurrency-related solutions as well as stablecoins and central bank digital currency.

“I can confirm that Jesse Lund is no longer employed by IBM. IBM’s practice is not to discuss the specifics of employee departures,” an IBM spokesperson wrote.

Lund was responsible for launching IBM’s Stellar blockchain-based World Wire payment network. He got six global banks to join, including Banco Bradesco, Bank Busan, and Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation. As of March, the platform had "payment locations in 72 countries, with 47 currencies and 44 banking endpoints."

According to Stellar’s co-founder Jed McCaleb, Lund’s departure shouldn’t have any effect on the platform.
